The Beaufort County Choral Society is proud of its community outreach. Twenty-five to thirty-five members volunteer their time to rehearse every Monday evening for two hours in order to perform freewill area wide concerts for the Beaufort County community, both in the winter and spring. We perform our concerts at the Historic Turnage Theatre, the artistic hub of Washington, and as visiting guest performers at various area venues.
Volunteering as carolers during our town tree-lighting ceremony is always viewed by the community as the warm and goodwill holiday gesture it is intended to be.
A unique component of our choral organization is its mentoring of youth. Our High School Intern Program is a fun and worthwhile means for students to complete community service credits as volunteer singers. The program not only offers an extra-curricular activity for young men and women who enjoy the art of performing, but it offers a more professional venue outside of the school environment for students to augment their college portfolio.
The Chorus is always eager to collaborate with local choruses, theater groups, and dancers to deliver more robust concerts to our community. For further information, email us at [email protected].
